780 million people worldwide do not have access to clean drinking water (United Nations, UNICEF). Every 20 seconds a child dies as a direct result of unsafe drinking water (One World).

Besides improving drinking water quality, it is just as important to increase the use and availability of sanitation and wastewater treatment. This will result in an increase in general health and a reduction of health risks. Additionally, it will reduce the development and spreading of diseases, as well as cut back environmental pollution.
